The following was submitted by the Abbot Library:
On Tuesday, April 23, at 6:30 pm, at the Abbot Library, Dialogue facilitator Michael Marchese will screen sections from "The Future of Humanity, a Dialogue held at Brockwood Park, England, in 1983, between Physicist David Bohm and J. Krishnamurti.”
In this filmed dialogue, Physicist David Bohm, one of the most original thinkers of the second half of the twentieth century, and J. Krishnamurti, renowned writer and speaker on philosophical and spiritual subjects, explore the prospects for the future of human beings, given our immense capacity for self-destruction. They note that we are still pursuing the age-old patterns of thinking which produce humanity's suffering. In this Dialogue, Bohm and Krishnamurti touch on consciousness, the brain, mind, and intelligence.
Michael Marchese will provide a brief introduction to the screening; the film will be about 20 minutes long; and there will be time reserved for discussion and engaging in Dialogue, following the screening.
All are welcome to participate! No previous knowledge of the concept of “Dialogue” is required!
Michael Marchese has been involved in the "dialogue" process as a facilitator and participant for over twenty years. He has held dialogues in Princeton, New Jersey, and Northampton, Massachusetts and participated in dialogues in Washington D.C.
