Malden/East Boston 5, Cape Ann 2

The Mustangs traveled to South Hamilton on Sunday to take on Cape Ann and showed off their offensive strength right from the start of the 1st period.  Mike Giordano, who netted a hat trick, was the offensive star of this one. Ryan Tosto lit the lamp with an unassisted goal 34 seconds into the game. Giordano followed with his first goal of the game, an unassisted goal, approximately two minutes later to increase the lead to 2-0.  Next it was Carson Tully who got on the board by burying the rebound of a Ryan Goggin shot to make it 3-0.
Giordano scored his second goal of the night in the 2nd period off of a feed from Tully to make it 4-0.

Cape Ann responded with two quick goals midway through the 3rd period to cut the lead in half.  However, with 4:34 remaining in the game Giordano completed his hat trick.  Nick Capillo and Zach Rufo added assists on the play. Thomas Guarino played another solid game in goal for the Mustangs.
