The Malden Catholic High School Robotics Team recently traveled to Oklahoma to compete in National Finals and participate in the Global Conference on Educational Robotics.
Under the direction of Malden Catholic moderator, Mr. Steve Caristinos, five local students took part in this year’s competition. The engineering/robotics students who worked throughout the school year in preparation for this event are:
• Chris Dixon from Revere,
• Giuseppe Barletta from East Boston,
• Vincent Giudice from Wakefield,
• Chris Monteiro from Stoneham,
• Grant Simpson from Wakefield
The event was held at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Each year students, educators, enthusiasts, and professionals from across the world gather at the Global Conference on Educational Robotics to connect with peers, discuss technology-related ideas, and cheer on their favorite teams during two exciting autonomous robot tournaments.
The Robotics Program engages students as they learn designing, building, programming, and documenting robots. Through this experience, students use science, engineering, technology, math, and writing skills in a hands-on project that reinforces their learning.
