On Wednesday, Jamaica Plain-based nonprofit Community Servings will kick off its third annual fund-raiser that asks the public to sponsor-a-‘stache by donating to the agency in recognition of men who volunteer to start February off clean shaven and grow out mustaches through the month.
The contest’s hosting organization, which feeds people in eastern Massachusetts who suffer from any critical illness, along with their dependents and caregivers, will host the “Mustachio Bashio” party on Feb. 29, to conclude the facial hair cultivation challenge.
At the event at City Table in the Lenox Hotel, prizes will be awarded for the best and most creative mustaches and to the top fundraisers.
All growers will receive a complimentary hot shave from Barbershop Deluxe. Men who raise more than $100 are invited as a complimentary guest to the party on the last day of the month; growers that raise over $200 are invited to bring a guest as well.
Otherwise, tickets to the event are $50 per person, which includes appetizers and cocktails.
Growers can sign up, and the public can sponsor a mustache and review more details, here. www.servings.org/mustachio.
