Hingham Police are investigating reports of two house breaks reported last Friday.
According to police, officers were dispatched to Smith Way at 10:44 a.m. after the resident arrived home and found glass broken on the rear French doors.
Police said it appeared as though the suspect smashed the glass and then reached inside to unlock the door.
The suspect mainly stole alcohol, including 8 to 10 cans of beer, three bottles of rum, and a bottle of gin. Other valuables in plan sight were not stolen.
The resident said the break most likely occurred between 8 p.m. the night before and 10:44 a.m. the next day. A neighbor said they heard dogs barking at midnight.
Police responded to a second break on Smith Road the same day at 11:08 a.m. A neighbor reported that an air conditioner was hanging from the front window of a neighbor’s home by the cord, and was resting on the shrubs.
Police said the suspect entered through that window and exited through a side window.
The residents weren’t home at the time of the burglary, and police are not yet sure what was stolen or when.
Police said they are not sure if the incidents are related, but believe they could be because of the close time frame.
Anyone with information on the incidents should contact Det. Gerald McInnis at 781-749-1212.
