Framingham police are seeking the public's help in finding a man they suspect robbed the same local convenience chain at gunpoint twice this month.
The search comes after a man allegedly robbed AV's Market at 80 Waverly St. in Framingham with a silver gun Sunday night around 7:15 p.m., said Framingham Lt. Ron Brandolini.
The man, who was wearing a black coat over a grey hooded sweatshirt, allegedly took about $700 in cash before climbing into the passenger seat of a small red getaway car, Brandolini said.
The incident follows another similar robbery that happened on Feb. 5 around 7:30 p.m. at another AV's Market location at 890 Waverly St. in Framingham, Brandolini said.
In that incident, a man wearing a black hooded jacket and latex gloves allegedly demanded cash from the cashier, brandishing a silver revolver and threatening to shoot the clerk if they failed to hand any money over, Brandolini said.
The man allegedly fled the store on foot heading west on Waverly Street after taking about $3,000 from the store and shoving it into a brown plastic bag that he brought in with him, Brandolini said.
Police have reviewed surveillance tapes and suspect that the robbers in both incident are the same man, Brandolini said.
