Framingham State University will host Congressman Barney Frank for a talk this Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Dwight Performing Arts Center.
The event is sponsored by the university's honors program, according to a flyer distributed by Framingham State.
Frank, a Newton Democrat, was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1980. He served as chairman of the Financial Services Committee from 2007 to 2010. He co-authored the Dodd-Frank bill, a sweeping set of financial regulations aimed at preventing a recurrence of the financial crisis of 2008.
Frank is retiring at the end of his current term.
Frank was also married to his longtime partner, Jim Ready, this summer. The ceremony was officiated by Governor Deval Patrick.
