Easter Seals invites young people with disabilities to join Youth Leadership Network at downtown event
Easter Seals is looking for teens and young adults with disabilities to join the organization’s Youth Leadership Network at an upcoming meeting in its offices near South Station.
Young people 14 – 26 are eligible to join and can learn more about the network at the meeting from 1 – 3 p.m. on May 4 at its offices at 89 South St. The network helps young people achieve success by pairing them with mentors and peers with disabilities who understand their challenges.
The Youth Leadership Network serves young people statewide, with meetings held in New Bedford and Worcester, as well as Boston. It is supported by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.
Network members participate in activities designed to help them take control of planning their adult lives, advocate for their own interests, and develop greater pride in themselves.
Easter Seals Massachusetts also supports children and adults with disabilities by providing assistive technology, employment and training services, public awareness programs, recreational activities, rehabilitation services, veterans’ services, and youth transition programs.
