The Uphams Corner branch of the Boston Public Library will be temporarily closed for renovations to the Columbia Road municipal building that houses it.
The library, at 500 Columbia Road, will be closed starting at 2 p.m. May 25, with work expected to be completed in September, according to the city.
The Uphams Corner Health Center is also housed in the Columbia Road building, but it will not be closing during renovations, said a representative for the health center.
The building was last renovated in 1989. The $3.2 million worth of improvements will include a new roof and gutters, repointing of the masonry, the installation of new windows, the rebuilding of exterior and interior stairs, and the installation of a new heating system.
The library moved to its 6,300-square-foot Columbia Road space from Dudley Street in 1904, according to BPL.
