The playground at Tenean Beach in Dorchester will be temporarily closed for repairs.
Damaged by tidal flood waters, the structures will be close immediately, said a notice from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
In the coming weeks the department and the Department of Conservation and recreation will assess the extent of the damage to determine what repairs will be necessary.
No community meetings, as of yet, have been scheduled.
Located in Dorchester’s Port Norfolk neighborhood, the beach is home to the annual Brian Leahy Memorial Polar Bear Plunge.
