Commuters will have their chance Thursday to find out the timeline for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s Casey Overpass project.
The DOT decided this month that it would raze the overpass and replace it with a surface street network.
While the decision was celebrated by some in Jamaica Plain and the surrounding communities, the motorists from Mattapan and Dorchester that use the overpass will now have to find alternative routes while the overpass is being torn down.
To help residents better understand when construction will be taking place and what kinds of delays and road closures residents will face, the DOT will hold a public meeting on the issue March 29 in Jamaica Plain.
The meeting will discuss the status of the project, how the DOT came to its decision, and the time-line for the project.
The meeting will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at English High School at 144 McBridge St.
