Sovereign is working with the school to ensure students at the public high school have the tools they need to succeed and eventually go onto college.
Nicole Bahnam, the headmaster of BIHS, said Sovereign's donation will open up doors for the students, who currently have no library.
"We are not just excited, we are ecstatic," said Bahnam, who has been with the school for two-years. "It's great that a partner from outside the school community feels a vested interest in the school and the students."
Representatives from Sovereign also took a tour of the school, stopping to talk with students and gaining an understanding of how important a library can be to students at a public school that specifically works to educate many students who are not yet proficient in English.
"When I first came to this school I was not very good and I saw others who needed help and I thought finally I have found a school that really helps immigrant students," said Arquely Burgos, a tenth-grade student at BIHS. "[The new library] will be a place where people can research and it gives students somewhere to be after school instead of just going home."
