The following information was taken from the Dedham police log. Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
Tuesday, March 19
Accident: At 7:22 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Dedham Boulevard and Leonard Street. One car was traveling southwest on Dedham Boulevard just past Leonard Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle and cross into oncoming traffic. She collided with the side-front corner of a second car, before sliding off the road. The driver of the second car complained of back pain and was taken to Faulkner Hospital.
Accident: At 7:41 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Dedham Boulevard. One vehicle was traveling southwest on Dedham Boulevard and icy conditions caused the vehicle to pass into the opposing lane, colliding with a second vehicle traveling northeast on Dedham Boulevard. One person was transported to Faulkner Hospital.
Wednesday, March 20
Theft: At 5:49 a.m., police received a report of stolen clothes on Hyde Park Street. A resident was doing laundry at on that street on Monday afternoon, and reported the clothes were taken at that time.
Accident: At 11:08 a.m., police responded to a three-vehicle accident on Ames Street. One vehicle was pulling onto Ames Street and was struck by a second vehicle as it turned left onto Ames Street from Bridge Street on the wrong side of the road. The second vehicle then went around the first and struck a third vehicle traveling north on Ames Street. The operator of the second vehicle was issued a citation and injuries were reported.
Malicious damage: At 2:48 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a green 1998 Honda Accord on Whitehall Street.
Fraud: At 4:27 p.m., police received a report of a fraudulent charge on a Berlin Street resident’s checking account dated for March 6. The transaction was a payment over the Internet. No other fraudulent charges were found.
Arrest: At 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at a Providence Highway business. Police arrested Christina Macedo, 24, of Boston and charged her with a second offense of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
Friday, March 22
Theft: At 11:54 a.m., police received a report of stolen copper wire on Allied Drive. Police spoke with a contractor foreman, who explained that the wire was taken from a building under construction. The wire is valued at $500.
Theft: At 1:56 p.m., police received a report of a stolen dealership license plate from a local business.
Saturday, March 23
Arrest: At 11:27 a.m., police arrested Richard Davis, 25, of Mattapan on two warrants for assault and battery. The arrest was made on Whiting Avenue.
Sunday, March 24
Arrest: At 8:51, police arrested Louis V. Quartararo, 21, of Quincy and charged him with carrying a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property over $250. Quartararo was arrested on Sprague Street.
Theft: At 1:40 p.m., police received a report of a stolen license plate from an Oscars Way resident. The plate was first seen missing on March 14.
Malicious damage: At 7:08 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage to a fence on Allied Drive.
Theft: At 11:38 p.m., police received a report of a laptop and personal items taken from an Ariadne Road residence. The door of the building was forced.
Monday, March 25
Malicious damage: At 4:08 p.m., police received a report of a driver’s door window smashed on a vehicle on Turner Street.
Tuesday, March 26
Theft: At 9:32 p.m., police received a report of stolen equipment valued at $1,000 from an Allied Drive business.
