An informational meeting to discuss conceptual plans for a new police station at the former St. Mary’s parking lot on High Street will be held April 25 at 7 p.m. at the new Avery School, 366 High St.
Members of the Building, Planning, and Construction Committee, town administrator Bill Keegan, and the town’s director of facilities will explain the new station's plan and cost, field questions, and address concerns.
According to a news release about the meeting, its primary purpose is for administrators to hear public input regarding the concept plan and address any concerns residents may have.
Earlier this month, the BPCC approved the 2-acre lot for the new station, which may cost upwards of $12 million and be about 18,000 square feet. The current station is 8,000 square feet and needs numerous improvements, according to a survey done by Municipal Resources Inc. earlier this year.
For more information regarding the meeting, or if you are unable to attend but still wish to comment, call the town administrator’s office at 781-751-9100.
