Greenlodge Elementary School in Dedham will re-open tomorrow for classes after being closed Wednesday because of a heating problem, according to town officials.
Town Administrator William Keegan said that the heating problem has been fixed and they expect the school to be fully operational tomorrow.
“I spoke with the business manager and confirmed with town maintenance, who had been assisting the problem, that the boiler is functioning now and the heat is back on,” said Keegan.
The problem was caused by a series of components that failed in the boiler. It was difficult to locate the issue because of worn down wires, said Keegan.
Keegan said that outside private contractors were brought in to work on the boiler.
“We have private people come in and assist our maintenance folks when there is a much more detailed type of repair,” said Keegan.
The boiler stopped working Tuesday night and there were several attempts to fix the problem throughout the night that were unsuccessful.
Parents were notified early this morning that the school would be closed for the day.
