A Concord tradition that is well worth preserving: the Christmas Eve carol sing in Monument Square. Bring the whole family; it doesn't last long, but you’ll see friends and neighbors as you huddle around the town tree on Monday evening. Carol books are available. The singing starts at 7:15 p.m. and ends about a half hour later.
The Children’s Discovery Museum in Acton, 177 Main Street, has some kid-pleasing activities during the next week. Get in on some creative play.

Construct your own noisemakers and create your own party hats to use as you celebrate the coming of a new year. Add your hopes for 2013 to our “Wishing Tree.” Happy New Year!

Come to the Children's Discovery Museum, 177 Main Street, Acton--978-264-4200--at 10 a.m. Shake, rattle, and roll into the New Year with Bessie, the dinosaur mascot of The Discovery Museums, as you create party hats and dance the morning away! There will be a count down to 12 (noon) and cups of sparkling juice to celebrate.

Looking way down the road to summer, we hear super chef Jason Bond is bringing a second Bondir restaurant to Walden St. in the space once occupied by Walden Grille. The original Bondir is in Cambridge. The website Eater Boston had the post, adding that Bond’s new endeavor is still in the planning stages.
