First off, you can’t pass up the annual Ag Day on Saturday, Sept. 10. It’s the day that the farmers come to the center of town to offer their fresh produce from the backs of their trucks. The farmers’ market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Milldam and includes Colonial Gardens, Verrill Farm, Hutchins Farm, Brigham Farm and Greenhouses, Scimone Farm, Macone Farm, Millbrook Farm, Kenney Farms, Silferleaf Farm, Walden Bros., Gaining Ground, Minuteman National Historical Park, Concord Land Conservation Trust, Pete and Jen's Backyard Birds and more.
After that, make your way to the Concord Museum for its Military Appreciation Day at 2 p.m. on Lexington Road. Come learn about the things you can do to help support today’s soldiers and their families—preparing care packages for soldiers, volunteering for a local organization, sewing a quilt square, or supporting a friend in need. Soldiers currently serving in the armed forces will discuss their experiences and leaders of support organizations will share the many ways that a community can help. Please bring a small, non-perishable item to donate to a care package drive for soldiers (no glass containers, please). For a list of suggested items, please click here. 2-4 p.m. Free.
There is some high school sports on Saturday as well. At 5 p.m. the girls JV soccer team takes on Lincoln-Sudbury, and at 7 p.m. the girls varsity plays the L-S varsity soccer team too. Go Patriots!
