Pubic school will resume in Cohasset Tuesday morning and Town Hall will reopen for regular business hours after closing early Monday due to Hurricane Sandy.
School Superintendent Barb Cataldo said Monday night that since very few homes were still without power and most debris had been removed, there was no need to keep schools closed.
"With the exception of a few roads, the majority of the town can be traveled without any difficulty," she said in a statement. "That being the case, the Cohasset Public Schools will open its doors at the regular time."
Students who are still without power or unable to attend school Monday should contact administrators to find out about missed work.
Almost immediately after the announcement was posted on the police department's Facebook page, several students began commenting in disappointment.
Several asked "why" and others pointed out that buses might not be able to make it through the water. Police responded emphatically with a "Yes there is school tomorrow!"
