The fifth annual Massasoit Community College Arts Festival at the Canton campus will take place Sunday, May 19.
Festivities will happen rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event raises funds for the visual arts department and accomplishes the educational institution’s cultural mission by attracting artists and art patrons to campus and bringing awareness to its fine arts program.
The event is free and open to the public and is located at 900 Randolph St., Canton.
Among the many displays at the event will be one by The Ink Monkeys, a collaborative of Massasoit students, faculty, and alumni with the motto that “anyone, anywhere can make prints.”
They will be printing their fourth giant steamroller print with the theme of The Alphabet.
Earlier this month, in preparation for the event, The Ink Monkeys went to the Massachusetts Hospital School, also in Canton, and used relief printmaking techniques with the students there.
The arts festival will also feature juried shows of Massasoit students, regional high school students, and an open show. There will be crafters, artisans, and plein air and portrait artists.
In addition to the steamroller print, there will be other demonstrations, which include ceramics, other printmaking, and children’s activities.
