The Museum of American Bird Art at Mass Audubon in Canton has hired Tammis Coffin as lead educator.
“I am excited to work with the museum to connect people with art and nature,” Coffin said. “We all need nature and creativity to keep us happy, healthy, and whole.”
Coffin added that the exhibitions, ceramics studio, and the classes, camps, and trails are great resources for the community.
Coffin joins the museum from the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, and has served as director of education with the Norman Bird Sanctuary.
Coffin will be available to meet on March 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Museum of American Bird Art “Hoot Happenings” event, featuring live owls and owl related activities.
“As we prepare for a new cycle of growth and innovation, we welcome Tammis with her impressive background in museum, art, and nature education,” said Amy Montague, museum director.
