The Cambridge Arts Council announced Tuesday that artist Lo Galluccio has been elected as the city’s 2013 Poet Populist.
Galluccio, a Cambridge native and Harvard graduate, was elected by Cambridge residents to serve as the poet populist for two years.
She is a vocal artist, memoirist and has released three books in Boston since 2001 including a prose-poem memoir, “Sarasota VII,” and “Terrible Baubles,” according to the city.
Gallucio has also released multiple vocal CDs, including “Spell on You,” a jazz and blues CD that was self-released in Boston. She also has a website, www.logalluccio.weebly.com.
She will succeed Toni Bee as the city’s poet populist.
An induction ceremony for Gallucio will be held under the Poet Populist Tent at the Cambridge River Festival on Saturday, June 1 at 2:30 p.m.
