Cambridge Police cleared a report of a suspicious package in Harvard Square this afternoon as the department continues to respond to numerous calls about unattended or suspicious items.
Police have responded to reports of about 30 suspicious packages since the marathon bombing in Boston Monday, according to Cambridge Police spokesman Dan Riviello.
The latest report this afternoon was on Church Street in Harvard Square about 3:30 p.m. and Cambridge Police bomb technicians responded and determined there was no threat.
Police have also checked and cleared reports of suspicious packages on White Street and Memorial Drive today.
Riviello said no hazards have been found, but the department now, as always, encourages residents to report any suspicious items.
“People are heeding that advice more right now,” Riviello said.
Police are posting information about the reports the department's Twitter account.
