A bigger Heath School seems to be in the works. Responding to overcrowding in the lower grades, the Massachusetts School Building Authority on March 31 invited the town to submit designs for expanding the K-8 school, according to Sean Cronin, deputy town administrator.

To produce those designs, the town is seeking $300,000 to be appropriated at Special Town Meeting, which will be held in conjunction with the annual Town Meeting session on May 25.

Cronin said the state has indicated it may reimburse the town for nearly 35 percent of the cost of expansion.
