Three arrested in alleged drug deal

Two men and a woman were arrested on Thursday after police witnessed what they believe was a drug deal.

According to police, while detectives were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Union Street and Ivory Street, they saw a woman walk across the street and enter a vehicle parked in the convenience store parking lot.

The car drove off, traveling a short distance up Grossman Drive before stopping and letting the woman out..

The woman began walking back toward Union Street while the car drove off.

Believing they had witnessed a drug transaction, police decided to stop both parties. One officer approached the woman on foot while the other officer stopped the car a short distance away.

When searched, the woman had two small bags of heroin in her hand.

Two male suspects were in the car, where police found an additional 26 bags of heroin, five bags of cocaine, and $140 in cash.

One of the male suspects in the car also had $1,837 in his pockets.

Jonathan D. Martinez, 18, and Aneudis G. Rosario, 19, both of Jamaica Plain, were charged with trafficking in heroin, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.

Mallory T. Marthena, 24, of Rockland was charged with possession of heroin and conspiracy.

Man drives into Braintree house

A Braintree man was arrested early Saturday morning after crashing into a Braintree house.

According to police, the suspect veered off the road and crashed into the home, located on Shaw Street.

The suspect fled the scene, but a passing motorist witnessed the crash and followed the suspect, calling police to alert them of his location.

Officers located the suspect at his home and made observations of possible intoxication. The suspect agreed to perform several sobriety tests and was then arrested.

Kevin Morrow, 25, of Braintree was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to keep within marked lanes.

At the police station, Morrow took a breath test and had a reading twice over the legal limit, police said.

No one was injured in the accident, though the house suffered extensive damage, police said.
