Man robbed of iPhones in Plaza parking lot

Police are investigating reports that a man was robbed outside the South Shore Plaza.

According to police, the man had just purchased four cases of iPhones - about 100 phones - from the Apple store at the South Shore Plaza and went to put them in his car, which was parked between Sears and Macy’s.

Police said that the victim was an employee of a New York-based company that purchases phones to ship overseas.

While the man was putting the cases into his car, three men allegedly approached him and grabbed two of the cases – approximately 50 phones - that were still on the ground behind his car.

The suspects then left with the phones.

The victim described the suspects as wearing dark colored clothes. One was heavy set, one was medium build, and one was thin, and all were between 25- to 30-years-old.

The phones were valued at just under $700 a piece, making the total loss almost $35,000.

Police are investigating the incident.

Man killed in motorcycle crash

A 26-year-old man has died after allegedly losing control of his motorcycle and crashing in Braintree.

According to police, Clovis Dossantos, a 26-year-old Braintree resident, was heading south on Washington Street near Wampatuck Road on Sunday when he lost control of the bike.

Dossantos was transported to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries shortly after 8 p.m., and later pronounced dead.

"It is my understanding that his family lives in Brazil and he has no family in this area," said Braintree Police Chief Russ Jenkins.

According to police, witnesses said speed seemed to be a factor in the accident.

The Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
