Holbrook man arrested for fourth OUI
A Holbrook man was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Tuesday after allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident.
According to police, the suspect got in a minor accident at the intersection of Commercial and Union Streets and then drove off. The victim followed the suspect but then lost sight of him.
Officers found the suspect on Liberty Street, allegedly driving without headlights on and repeatedly crossing over the double solid lines, police said.
According to police, officers pulled the suspect over and asked him to perform several sobriety tests.
While the suspect was outside the car, police found an open can of beer located on the floor of the suspect’s pick-up truck.
John Kenny, 49, of Holbrook was subsequently arrested and charged with operating under the influence - fourth offense, driving to endanger, operating without headlights, leaving the scene of an accident, and drinking from an open container of alcohol while driving.
Pair arrested on marijuana, alcohol charges
A Dedham woman and Hyde Park man were arrested on Saturday morning, and a Braintree man will be summonsed to court, after officers found drugs and alcohol during a traffic stop.
According to police, the car was allegedly going 50 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone, and was pulled over by police.
When the officer approached the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana. A search uncovered two bags of marijuana, packaged for sale, along with other drug paraphernalia, including a scale, grinder, and sandwich bags.
Police also uncovered a pair of metallic knuckles, and under the bag, officers also located a machete.
An open container of alcohol was also found in the vehicle.
Police arrested Briana O’Neill, 22, of Dedham, and DeShawn McKinnon, 26, of Hyde Park, charging them with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a dangerous weapon.
McKinnon was additionally charged with possession of an open container of alcohol.
The Braintree man will be summonsed to court for being under 21 in possession of alcohol. His name has not been released, as he has not yet been charged.
