Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray will make an appearance in Beverly today as he tours Beverly's waterfront amid redevelopment projects funded by state grants.
On the tour, Murray will see the work area for the Commercial Marina and Ferry Landing redevelopment project, Beverly Mayor William F. Scanlon, Jr. said in a phone interview. Beverly last month received just under $1.4 million for that project from the state Seaport Advisory Committee, which Murray chairs.
"I think he's actually going to be reviewing some progress," Scanlon said.
Murray will also see the nearly-complete repairs to the waterfront which are funded by a $2.5 million state grant awarded to Beverly, Scanlon said. Workers have installed concrete floats and constructed a new apron on the water's edge Scanlon said.
Scanlon expects Murray, who is also scheduled to appear in Gloucester and Salem today, will arrive in Beverly at about 3 p.m., he said.
