The Braemar building at the Glen Urquhart School in Beverly will host the 23d annual SummerScape Camp Fair.

It may be difficult to think about summer while shoveling heaps of heavy snow, but it’s not too soon to be preparing summer plans.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Glen Urquhart School -- a K-8 coed independent school at 74 Hart St. in Beverly -- will host its 23d annual camp fair, SummerScape, featuring representatives from over 70 camps throughout the greater North Shore and nationwide.

“The camps we have here are unbelievable. They provide such unique opportunities for kids today,” said Sue Hepler, 48, director of the Annual Fund and Community Relations at Glen Urquhart. “They have fun, make friends, and have their own new adventure for a week.”

The fair, which features programs for all ages, includes day camps, residential camps, traditional, sports, science, art, theater, and specialized enrichment programs as well as community service opportunities.

“My kids have loved the camps they’ve attended that we learned about through this fair,” said Adriana Parianos, 36, of Essex, a member of the Glen Urquhart Parent Association and mother of three. “Not only can the parents learn about the different programs available, but the kids too see what they are interested in aside from school.”

Glen Urquhart expects more than 800 guests and has scheduled a snow date for Feb. 6.  SummerScape will take place in the Braemar building on the Glen Urquhart campus. The event is free for the public.

“SummerScape was started 23 years ago to serve the community and to allow the community to see our school,” said Hepler. “We’re happy to be giving this event to the them.”

More information on SummerScape and Glen Urquart School can be found on the school’s website.
