Belmont Police are warning residents not to leave packages on front porches, because they can be a prime target for holiday grinches.
So far this season, said Assistant Chief James MacIsaac, police have not had any reports of stolen packages, save one instance about two months ago. But now is the time, he said, that packages are likely to get picked up.
Residents should make sure to pick up their mail promptly, he said, or have a neighbor do it if they are unable.
