Belmont Police are warning residents to lock their car doors following a spate of car break-ins over the last 48 hours.
Over the past two days, according to an announcement sent out by the police, there have been car breaks on Goden Street, Horace Road, and Bay State Road, as well as in other areas.
Change, iPods and credit cards were taken and used to make purchases in local stores.
Police are advising residents to report suspicious activity, lock car doors, and avoid leaving valuables in cars.
Unsecured vehicles are easy targets, and windows should be closed. GPS systems, computers, cash and iPods should all be hidden.
Even if a car is broken into and nothing is taken, police ask that residents report the incident, as information about break-in locations can be used to prevent future crimes.
