The Belmont Town Clerk is reminding voters of fast-approaching registration deadlines, and has placed a current voter list on the town website so residents can check that their voting information is correct.
Detailed voter information and the list of current registered voters can be found here.
To vote in the Sept. 6 state primary, residents must be registered no later than Aug. 17. To vote in the Nov. 6 presidential election, voters must be registered no later than Oct. 17. The Town Clerk’s office will be open until 8 p.m. on both of those deadline dates to ensure that residents have plenty of time to register.
The Clerk is also reminding residents that any changes to voting information must be done with the voter’s original signature.
Town Clerk Staff will be accepting voter registrations and absentee ballot requests at Meet Belmont on Aug. 28 at the Chenery Middle School starting at 6 p.m. Staff will also be answering voter questions.
Anyone who needs an absentee ballot should file a request in writing with the Clerk’s office beginning in mid-August. Absentee ballots are only good for one calendar year and expire on Dec. 31, so last year’s ballot won’t be sufficient.
Anyone with questions should call the Town Clerk’s Office at 617-993-2600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
