Friends of Joey's Park seeks community input on future of playground

The Friends of Joey’s Park Committee is looking for input from the public on the future of the Joey’s Park playground, located next to Winn Brook Elementary School in Belmont.

Joey’s Park, built by members of the community in 1989 in memory of Joey O’Donnell, who died of cystic fibrosis at the age of 12, was shut down last November because of safety concerns. It was repaired and reopened, but the fixes are temporary, and the park needs further repair and equipment replacement.

The Friends are asking residents of Belmont to fill out a five-minute survey about the next steps that should be taken to improve the park. Take the survey here.

The Winn Brook PTA is also accepting donations for Joey’s Park. They can be made here.
