Arlington police have arrested a Maine man who threatened to “spray” two police officers and a police dispatcher with gunfire.
Christopher Loder, 40, of Palermo, Maine, was arrested at a friend’s home in Arlington Tuesday after police said he threatened to kill two police officers and a dispatcher on Saturday, May 14.
Police said Loder called Arlington police Saturday and said he was going to beat up two officers and bring a group of military friends and “spray” the officers with and AK-47 assault rifle and an AR-15 rifle.
After an investigation into the phone call, police obtained a warrant for Loder’s arrest Tuesday and arrested him at 26 Grove St. on three counts of threatening to commit a crime.
Police said Tuesday that Loder is being held at the police headquarters and will be transported to Cambridge District Court to be arraigned.
Arlington Police Captain Robert Bongiorno said Loder is well known to Arlington police and appears to have had prior dealings with the two officers he threatened.
