Spy Pond needs its friends this spring and summer!
The Friends of Spy Pond are putting out a call for volunteers for one of seven upcoming work days
Jacki Katzman, publicity co-chair for the Friends of Spy Pond, said last year people had all kinds of fun working, while also doing good:
* Energetic teens earned service points hacking down large invasive species
* Families with kids over 6 cleaned up the playground, beach and paths
* Boaters waded the shoreline to pick up submerged trash
* People of all ages learned to separate the weeds from the wildflowers and enjoyed communal "weeding meditation"

The Friends of Spy Pond Park Work Days are scheduled for Saturdays with Sunday afternoon rain dates. In July and August, groups meet in the morning to beat the heat. The August work date is still tentative, so if your group has a preference, contact organizers ASAP.
