The Arlington Farmer’s Market will kick off for the season Wednesday with new hours in Arlington Center.
The market in the Russell Common parking lot will run from 2 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through the end of October.
In the past the market opened at 1 p.m., but manager Patsy Kraemer said the later starting time this year will help alleviate some of the traffic that is created when the market is open and the neighboring Arlington Catholic High School is in session.
This year 26 vendors will participate in the market, but because it’s early in the season, Kraemer said a few of the vendors will not be at the market opening Wednesday.
But some produce, such as strawberries, is already in season, and most of the farmers and local restaurants will be at the market opening, Kraemer said.
