The Metropolitan Waterworks Museum will host a free “Family Day” on Sat. Sept. 15., featuring a variety of educational activities, including scavenger hunts, tours, story time, “Waterworks Jeopardy” and hands-on projects.
The museum overlooking the Chestnut Hill Reservoir opened in spring 2011 and focuses on the history of water, water pumping and water conservation in Boston.
Family Day activities will be held between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. both inside and outside of the museum.
Below is the schedule for Family Day:
11 a.m. - Opening and Intro
11:30 a.m. - Story Time: Letting Swift River Run
12 p.m. - Jeopardy Game: Water Facts
12 p.m. - Scavenger Hunt (simultaneous to Jeopardy game)
12:30 p.m. - Story Time: Dwayne the Storm Drain
1 p.m. - Jeopardy Game: Water Facts
1:30 p.m. - Story Time: Miss Frizzle
2 p.m. - Jeopardy Game: Waterworks Museum
2 p.m. - Scavenger Hunt (simultaneous to Jeopardy game)
2:30 p.m. -Story Time: “Letting Swift River Run”
2:45 p.m. - Final Raffle
3 p.m. - End of Day: Final Thanks
Tours of the museum and activity stations will be ongoing throughout the day.
