Police cite driver of sedan in collision at Allston intersection; motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries

Police have cited the driver of a sedan involved in a collision with a motorcycle at a busy Allston intersection earlier this week that left the motorcyclist suffering life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
The driver of the car was cited for “failure to yield to [another] vehicle when turning,” according to a Boston Police spokeswoman. She said there police had received no update on the condition of the motorcyclist since the accident.
The sedan and motorcycle collided at the intersection of Harvard and Commonwealth avenues at about noon on Monday, police said.
The motorcyclist was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries, the spokeswoman said. The driver of the car was hospitalized at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. A police report did not indicate the extent of the injuries the car driver suffered, she said.
The accident remains under investigation Boston Police motor vehicle accident reconstruction experts, according to police.
Police declined to identify either driver or provide further information about the incident.
