Andre Tippett, a retired NFL player, and Patriot’s owner Robert Craft, presented Ginger DeShaney (center) with her award.

Ginger DeShaney, a South Boston resident, was recently named a “Patriots Difference Maker” by the New England Patriots.

DeShaney was highlighted for her work to secure nutrition and fitness grants for the Josiah Quincy School, which is based in Chinatown.

Through her grant writing, DeShaney was able to obtain $5,000 through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program to help support a number of healthy activities at the school, including healthy taste tests, a school breakfast promotion, and before-school activity clubs.
