A 26-year-old man from Braintree will face several charges after allegedly crashing his car into a 10-wheeler truck, which narrowly avoided collision with a Dunkin Donuts.

Police were called to the scene on Nov. 25 shortly after 12:30 p.m. for a multiple car crash at Dunkin Donuts on Grove Street.

According to a release, officers determined that the Braintree man had been traveling south on Grove Street and crossed the center line into the path of the truck, which was traveling north and being operated by a 40-year-old man from Dorchester.

The Braintree man, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, hit the truck head on, police said. The collision forced the truck into a 2006 Saab 97, being operated by a 36-year-old Milton woman waiting to exit the parking lot onto Grove Street.

The 10-wheeler truck continued to crash through a fence and come to rest against the overhead of the roofline of the Dunkin Donuts. There was minor structural damage to the building, however it remained intact, police said.

No one in the building was hurt in the accident, however all three operators were taken to South Shore Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Braintree man, whose name has not yet been released, will face charges of operating to endanger, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
