Last Tuesday of every month at Middlesex, 315 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge. 10 p.m. 21-plus. 617-868-6739,

The deal: What started as an inside joke — DJ Die Young and some buddies hanging out and playing techno jams like ZZT’s “Lower State of Consciousness’’ at giggle-inducingly slow speeds — has blossomed into its own strange little niche. SSLLOOWW specializes in forcibly sedated classics (see Die Young’s edit of Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere’’), chopped ’n’ screwed club-bombs, heavily damaged chillwave, and otherwise tranquilized jams.

The DJs: Aliased residents include DJ Die Slow (Die Young), Coralslowla (Coralcola), El Slowsur (El Poser), Slowfoxx (Redfoxx) along with the custom visual stylings of Kid Wolfman. Special guests have included Salem, Avoxblue and André Obin, who will perform his new “Soft Rain’’ single at Tuesday’s installment.

Who goes there: “I think our crowd is more in tune with experimental stuff and bedroom production,’’ says DJ Die Young. “People who dig a little deeper than what’s on Pitchfork. Also, people who have a sense of humor about it — considering how we started we’re shocked at how it’s done.’’

3 Songs You’ll Hear: André Obin, “Soft Rain’’; Ke$ha, “Tik Tok’’ (Coralslowla’s Much More Tolerable Edit); Fleetwood Mac, “Everywhere’’ (DJ Die Slow’s Edit)

The drink: Appropriately enough, SSLLOOWW is officially sponsored by Drank — the “extreme relaxation’’ drink.
