The writer has set many of his books in Boston (several have been turned into movies) including "Gone Baby Gone," "Mystic River" and "The Given Day."
He says Dorchester helped shape him. "I grew up in a very storytelling culture ... people went to bars and told great stories. There was a high premium on how well you could tell a story, how funny you could make it. How authentic it was.''
