Bellack had been vice president for academic affairs/provost and professor of nursing and health sciences at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She will succeed Ann W. Caldwell, who announced in September that she would step down after 10 years as president. Bellack earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in pediatric nursing from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in educational policy studies and evaluation from the University of Kentucky.
