Weighing the risks and benefits of Caesareans

Caesarean deliveries continue to climb, two Massachusetts General Hospital obstetricians write in a perspective piece appearing in tomorrow's New England Journal of Medicine. The rising number suggests that doctors need to do more to educate their patients about the trade-offs and to ensure that their choices fit their own philosophy, plans, and risk tolerance.
