Bentley University undergraduate students will be studying Lexington Center as part of a semester-long course that will look at best suburban downtown practices.
Students from the university’s integrated business project course will research Lexington Center, including holding focus group and doing an email survey about the business district.
After seeking input on the future of the downtown central business district, the students results will be presented in May at the conclusion of the spring semester, according to the Lexington Center Committee.
Committee Chairman Jerry Michelson engaged the students for the project, and Peter Siy, a member of the committee, is one of the professors at Bentley who is responsible for the integrated business projects course.
“Bentley University has provided us an opportunity to get objective research and views from these very motivated business students and we welcome their input,” Michelson said in a press release announcing the project.
Michelson said the Lexington Center Committee will be seeking Lexington residents for the focus group about the town’s central business district.
The Bentley course will be studying market and local trends, best practices for suburban downtowns and study issues in operations, marketing and finance.
