Siesta Key's colorful wooden lifeguard towers are not only iconic, they also have code names according to a local newspaper. Red is the 'meet and greet' tower where young people hang out. Green is "the family-oriented tower" because families with kids tend to gather there. Yellow, shown, is "the U.N. tower" because it draws a diverse crowd. And blue is "the geriatric tower" for, well, obvious reasons.
