Ponds and lakes in Rhode Island
Pecks Pond, Glocester
This 13-acre watery speck up in the state-owned Casimir Pulaski Memorial Recreation Area is a terrific place to cool off. It is located in the 4,000-acre George Washington Management Area and is very popular with families with young children; the swimming area is roped off and there are lifeguards.
The park has a gorgeous picnic area in towering pine groves, and the hills slope to the water. Theres a rentable pavilion and the occasional spotting of indigenous wildlife: Not far from the swimming area is a beaver dam.
