Well into the trail, we hit the Headwall, an aptly-named section near the upper edges of Tuckerman Ravine. The trail turns extremely steep here, and it felt like we were climbing stairs as we picked our way up from one rock to the next. Our pace certainly slowed down here, in part to catch our breath and in part to make sure we could locate the yellow trailer markers.
