M'nhiggun: First time we ever saw a beatnik was on the Laura B. dock in Port Clyde. The Laura B. was the boat that took folks to M'nhiggun — an island about 11 miles out in the Gulf of Maine. Almost from the beginning M'nhiggun has been a gathering place for ahtists. These days — come summah — M'nhiggun is just crawlin with your ahtists and and folks who like to hang around ahtists. It gets so bad out there you wonder how them ahtists evah get any of their aht work done.
