It can be useful to have a marketing message even for a shrine. The priests and brothers behind the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge call themselves official promoters of the authentic Divine Mercy message since 1941. That group of holy men, the Congregation of Marians of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, has lived on Eden Hill since 1944 when Father Walter Pelczynski and others bought land at the Eden Hill estate. An image of the Divine Mercy was enshrined in a small chapel, and the place has been a favorite ever since, with its biggest pilgrimage the weekend after Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday, an event that attracts upward of 18,000 people. Approximately 75,000 people a year visit.
