At Thanksgiving, we give thanks for all we have. But many go the extra step and give something special to those in need. From helping at homeless shelters and serving at soup kitchens, this time of year is typically saturated with ways to spread good cheer.

If you're traveling for Thanksgiving this year, or just looking for a way to donate, the team at Hawkins PR rounded up a few New England-based hotels that are giving back this Thanksgiving:

Support the Greater Boston Food Bank, Fifteen Beacon, Boston, MA: At Fifteen Beacon this Thanksgiving, 15% of the room rate is donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank, so everyone can enjoy a meal this Thanksgiving. The “ThanksforGiving” package includes complimentary airport transfer and welcome amenity. Package starts at $895 for a 2-night minimum stay. (XV Beacon was recently named the second best business hotel in the world by Conde Nast Traveler.)

Turkey Trot, Omni Bedford Springs Resort, Bedford, PA: Omni Bedford Springs Resort is hosting the Second Annual Bedford Springs Turkey Trot, a 5K walk/run on Friday, Nov. 29. The 3.1 mile course traces the resort’s beautiful wooded trails and benefits the People for Parks of Bedford. The charity works together to provide valuable recreational resources for all children, adults, and families who reside and visit in Bedford. Prizes will be awarded for fastest male and female runners and medals will be given to top three finishers in several age groups. The Early Registration fee is $20, while the Day of Race registration is $25. Registration forms for the Annual Turkey Trot are available for download at

Giving Tree, Omni Mount Washington Resort, Bretton Woods, NH: This year marks the tenth year of Omni Mount Washington Resort’s Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is a community outreach program donating goods to local organizations during the holiday season. This year, the resort has chosen to donate all items to 100 Angels from New Hampshire Catholic Charities and various shelters in the North Country. Beginning Nov. 23, the Omni Mount Washington Resort encourages guests, locals and employees of the resort to visit the Giving Tree and select a tag with a child’s age, gender and Christmas wish or donate gently used clothing or canned goods during this community outreach program. Donations are accepted until Dec. 14. More information and suggested items for donation can be found here.
